One of the other crew members listed on the manifest was Thomas Midrano, who was married to Dolly's sister Flo and therefore Ropo's brother-in-law.
Both Ropo's and Tom Midrano's position were listed as a wiper, whose responsibilities included: general maintenance, cleaning, painting, and preservation of the ship.This was most likely a step-up from Ropo's previous position of coal trimmer.
Manifest includes physical description of Ropo, including age: 23, height: 5'1" and weight: 140 lbs.(123 lbs. in November)
Ropo is listed as having a tatoo of an anchor on his left front arm (LFA) and Tom Midrano has a tattoo of a girl and his name on his right front arm (RFA)
Their race is listed a "Phil" or "Phil I." but their nationality is listed as "Am Phil." or "Am" (American).
